COVID Health & Safety Measures
Your safety is our priority. We have therefore brought in new measures to ensure everyone if kept safe during their visit to Poplar Union.
Please have a read of the new changes we have in place:
When you arrive
Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before the event start time.
Join our socially distanced queue at the Poplar Union entrance and ensure you’re wearing a face covering (unless you are exempt). Please queue using the allocated pathway to keep clear from other pedestrians.
Once you get to our reception, you will be asked to sanitise your hands using our sanitation station.
You will have your temperate checked using an electric thermometer (including children). If your temperature is 37.8°C or above, you and anyone from your household will will be turned away and recommended to seek medical advice. You will be offered a ticket exchange or credit.
You will then be asked to scan the QR code to register onto Test & Trace. Please register following the simple steps presented. If you don’t have a smart phone or access to register digitally, we will ask you to fill in our sign in sheet.
Please only bring essentials with you (1x small bag and a coat). Please call ahead if you are bringing any larger items (such as a suitcase) and we will do our best to accommodate these in a secure setting. We have some small lockers available on site, which can be used with a 20p non-refundable fee (using a 20p coin only).
If you are coming for a ticketed event, it is compulsory you book in advance to your visit or entry will not be permitted. This is so we can manage numbers on site at all times.
You will then be shown the way to your event by a member of staff. We hope you enjoy your visit!

Depending on the event you are attending, chairs/cushions/mats will be set up with a 2-metre gap between each person.
We ask that you wear your face covering at all times when moving around the building. You are welcome to remove it once you are seated.
Please listen to any instructions or directions from our staff.
Once the event has finished, please remain seated until a staff member comes to lead you out using the one-way system to exit. Please ensure you maintain social distancing.
On exit, you’ll be asked to sign out of the building using the QR code provided. If you completed a manual sign in form, you will not need to do this.
For each event, audience numbers will be capped accordingly to ensure you and our staff feel safe in the building. This will be stated on the individual event pages on the website.
We have 6 toilets and 1 accessible toilet (with baby change) plus 4 additional toilets and 1 accessible (with baby change) in the café. There will be spot checks throughout the day/night to ensure they are clean and sanitised for use.
If our bar is open, we ask you to form a socially distanced queue. We will only be accepting card payments at this time. Please discard your drink vessel using the bin or collection point provided.
