Babel Theatre present: CONNECT
Join Babel Theatre for a two day intensive physical exploration of ensemble training, developing a profound sense of connection to ourselves, to each other, and to the space around us.
What to expect
Focussing on the fundamentals of Babel’s ensemble theatre making: impulse, listening, imagination, play, emotion and freedom, this workshop will be an uplifting and joyous way to practice detailed listening to ourselves, developing strong connections with people, and exploring the rich potential for powerful performance provided by these embedded relationships.
Through a unique blend of well-established and contemporary physical vocabulary, CONNECT workshops are highly collaborative, very physical and wonderfully exhausting, and will be ideal for artists at any stage looking to develop their creative skills.
*This is a two day course. Please select the Saturday when booking your ticket and this will include the Sunday session.

The workshop is suitable for current or graduate Drama students, professional actors, directors, dancers, teachers, yoga practitioners, people interested in body practices and mindfulness and wellbeing.
About Babel Theatre
Babel are an award-winning UK physical theatre company, led by Artistic Director Joseph Lynch. They create multidisciplinary, highly visual theatre which integrates movement, text and music to communicate the grey areas in life where language alone is insufficient. Their premiere play ‘You must be the one to bury me’ won the 2015 Best of Festival award at the acclaimed International Youth Arts Festival (UK) and was selected by New Diorama, Battersea Arts Centre and The Guardian to represent the best of UK small scale touring theatre in the A Nation’s Theatre Festival. Babel are a graduate of New Diorama’s emerging artist scheme and a supported company at HOME.
About Joseph Lynch
Artistic Director Joseph Lynch trained at the acclaimed East 15 Acting School’s Physical Theatre course and has continued to train extensively with many of the world’s leading theatre professionals. He has worked for over 10 years as a director, theatre-maker and facilitator, and has taught at some of the UK’s leading drama schools, recently at the Sichuan Academy of Art in ChengDu, China. He is also an Associate Artist with the David Glass Ensemble, one of the world’s leading physical theatre companies.
