Did you know that the fast fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world? And that over 235 million items of clothing are expected to end up in landfill in the UK alone this year.
One way to change this is to extend the life of your clothes by repairing them, saving you money and helping to protect the planet.

What to expect

As part of our POP-Goes Green season, join Sunny Jar this January in this interactive clothes mending and upcycling workshop. Learn simple hand stitches to repair, embellish and extend the life of your clothes. All levels of experience are welcome. Please bring along clothes that need mending so the team can advise on how best to fix them. A perfect opportunity to beat the January blues, learn or refresh your sewing skills, enjoy some mindful crafting, make some new friends and chat about sustainable living.

Examples of skills you can learn:

How to mend small holes
How to mend a ripped seam
How to sew a button on
Visible mending (darning, sashiko)
