What you launching then?

We’re raising funds for a bloomin’ good cause! The night will launch a new collaborative workshop project which tackles abortion stigma aimed at young adults.

Young people face unique barriers when seeking accurate information about abortion, and in accessing abortion services, we’re creating a space in which we can exchange and be entertained, and formulate ideas for change, in a world where too often people make our bodies their business.

About Abortion Rights UK

Abortion Rights UK is the only national UK pro-choice campaign. They were formed in 2003 by a merger of the National Abortion Campaign (NAC) and the Abortion Law Reform Association (ALRA) – the two groups primarily involved in securing legalised abortion in the 1967 Abortion Act. So Abortion Rights has been at the forefront of driving through abortion reform and they’re still at it today!

They campaign to defend and extend the right to free, safe, legal and accessible abortion. They challenge the status quo and address the stigma surrounding abortion head on! Part and parcel of this is raising awareness and lobbying for the rights of women. At the heart of their campaigns is defending and extending the reproductive rights of all women in all different communities; they have defended the disabled community, women of colour, the migrant community and those from the LGBT community.

Lilly Burton’s All Aboard At Termination Station is the funniest show we’ve ever seen about abortion. Lilly’s extraordinary energy and glorious comic timing hold her in perfect stead as she articulates the arguments for access and challenges stigma through a frank account of her own abortion experiences”- Bechdale Theatre

All Aboard! At Termination Station is Fearlessly funny and painfully poignant, Lilly Burton’s observation, writing and performance is just what the doctor ordered at such a dangerous moment for women’s rights.” – Shami Chakrabarti (yeah that’s right…the most dangerous women in Britain is into it!)
