A sonic collaboration between PlayForProgress and pioneering, electronic musician, Leafcutter John. Celebrating International Mother Language Day through DIY instruments, sampling, vocal and instrumental music.

What to expect

After a series of workshops, experimentation, sound sampling and DIY instrument building, the PlayForProgress team will connect with Leafcutter John to create a night of new music drawing on languages and cultures from around the world, cooked up in a melting pot of electronics and sampling.

PlayForProgress tap into the healing power of music, the arts, play, and creative therapies to build healthy and resilient relationships that support and amplify the voices of unaccompanied refugees and asylum-seekers.

For the past 20 years, Leafcutter John has been at the forefront of experimental composition, constructing his own technological systems out of hardware and software to make ornate, complex electronica.
