You know that holey jumper you’ve been meaning to mend but your sewing skills just aren’t quite up to scratch? Or are you still paying for someone else to repair the inner tube of your bike wheel? Perhaps you want to start an indoor herb garden but don’t know your thyme from your basil?! We’ve got you sorted with this new, community-lead fortnightly skill swap!
What to expect
Each fortnight, a member of the community will volunteer two hours of their time to teach some of life’s most handy skills. Attendance at these laid back, informal sessions is free, the idea being you ‘pay-it-forward’ by volunteering to share one of your own nifty talents by leading a future skill-swap.
We’ve all got tips and tricks and skills to be swapped so what’s yours? Come down and share it!

EMILY JONES – CARD MAKING
Fed up with how expensive and generic celebration cards are? Can’t find the card to really convey your sentiment? Come and make your own! I never seemed to find a celebration card in shops that I both liked and conveyed the sentiment I was after, so I decided to make my own! I love making cards for family and friends as they can really reflect things I know they like, or remind me of them. In this card making Skill Swap, I’ll show you some of the cards I’ve made over the past few years and demonstrate a few methods I use regularly, which you can then try out as well as unleash your own creativity on the card!
