Script Club with Aktualise Theatre CANCELLED

A simple, friendly coming together to read new plays from beginning to end with a post reading discussion.
What to expect
So often in the industry you plough all energy and effort into two pages of sides for an audition, don’t read a whole play from start to end, follow a characters’ journey, or read with fellow, invested actors rather than into a phone for a self-tape.
At Aktualise they saw this and wanted to create more opportunities for collaboration and creativity. Aktualise Theatre decided to start facilitating script reading sessions for actors and writers as part of the R&D process.
This workshop is for professional or training writers & performers. Each month, you will focus of a different theme and play. This will be gender and colour blind cast and will be on a first come first served basis.
Next Workshop:
Thursday 27 February – The Horse by Ollie George Clark
The Horse is a play set in Ancient Troy dealing with the aftermath of an epic war which has ravaged the city for ten years. We follow three stories across the city; the royals, the soldiers and the civilians and see how each reacts and revels in what they hope will now be peacetime.
About the writer
Ollie George Clark is a writer for stage and screen. His work has led to him receiving numerous award nominations including the BAFTA Rocliffe and Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize.
He is in process of having his play Butterfly produced by Jake Orr Productions, he’s been commissioned to write a short play for Feel More at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre in February 2020 and will have his short play Warm and Chewy produced for the second time at the Chiswick Playhouse.
