About Rachel Laird

Rachel is based in London as a freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher. Previously she trained at Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School for her Postgraduate, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance for her BA (Hons) degree and prior to this at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance. As a freelance performer she has worked with English National Opera, Peut-Être Theatre (Children’s dance theatre), Garsington Opera, Roisin O’Brein Dance, A Truefitt Collective (Primary school’s tour) and The Natashas to create, learn repertoire work and tour. In 2019 Rachel co-founded dance theatre duo Sliding Doors Collective and they have performed their work at Edinburgh Fringe, Resolution Festival and Dance Live.

Rachel has taught throughout Scotland, England, Copenhagen, and China as a teacher independently as well as representing performance companies as a Contemporary Dance teacher, Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator and Yoga/Meditation teacher. What I specifically love about working with children is seeing the excitement, wonder and fascination behind their eyes when watching what is in front of them for the first time, it is such a special thing to witness.
