Unfortunately, the session on the 17 December has been cancelled due to Milou being unwell.

Embroidery is a process of conveying and capturing stories. Behind every embroidered piece there is a story.”
– Kirsty Whitlock, Artist

Artist, Milou Stella, is inviting you to stitch with her at this fortnightly embroidery meet up, and contribute to a community wall hanging. What’s your story?

What to expect

Milou will guide you through the process of embroidery step by step. Share a memory, bring a photo, stitch a message to someone you love or lost. This intimate project has ‘you’ at its heart.
Materials are provided but you’re welcome to bring a sentimental piece of fabric that you’re happy to donate to the final piece.

About Milou

Milou Stella is a trained artist and founder of Moody Bright Designs. Interested in the relationship between wellbeing and embroidery, she started the Embroidery Loop: a free monthly meet-up for textile lovers. Her current practice includes the use of embroidery and upcycled textiles, with which she’s developed, in partnership with Rich Mix and St. Hilda’s Community Centre, a participatory Textile Project: ‘Moving Threads: The Magic Carpet’. She teaches embroidery workshops around London, including at Fabrications, Poplar Union and more.

Review

It was really calming and rich for my soul to spend 2 hours doing embroidery and chatting with Milou from Moody Bright Designs. I needed to try something new and meet new people and I did, it was really heart-warming ” – Inês, participant
