Sunny Jar are back and they’re feeling festive with another fun, informative and interactive night teaching you how to have a zero-waste Christmas this winter.

What to expect

Moving from creative DIY table to table, you will learn how to wrap your presents beautifully with very low impact on the environment; you will craft natural and eco-friendly decorations; and make a body scrub and a bath soak from food waste and easily sourced ingredients – the perfect sustainable gifts for your friends and family.

We will also have plenty of time to make new friends, chat about all things Eco happening in our neighbourhood, and share the latest news on Sunny Jar’s Community Projects.

This is a ‘pay what you feel’ event. Please RSVP by booking a free ticket online and donations will be taken on the door on the night.

About Sunny Jar Eco Hub

Sunny Jar Eco Hub is a social enterprise with a mission to reduce waste by making low waste living easy and accessible for all, run by two local women and a team of volunteers; Maud Barrett is a sustainable textiles artist and educator and has been living low waste for a number of years as a keen upcycler, creating beautiful weaves, jewellery and bags from waste materials. Linda Tai is an experienced health professional, who combines her wellbeing and mindfulness knowledge with the use of craft. She wants to share her passion of sustainable living with others, as a healthy person can only exist within a healthy environment.

They run low waste living workshops around London, with a focus on craft and upcycling. Their ethos is to reduce waste and live more sustainably with less plastic. They want Londoners to rethink their waste, reuse what they’ve got and upcycle. They also help deliver community projects, raising awareness on the impact of plastics and waste in our environment, currently working on a Borrow-a-Bag initiative with Plastic Free Roman Road in Bethnal Green. See here to get involved.
