What to expect
Gouri Choudhury’s Suraloy school has been teaching Bangladeshi music to young people in London for many years, providing students with a strong foundation in South Asian Music. These Sunday afternoons offer a chance for her students to perform on stage in front of a supportive audience and show their deep love for their art.
Born in Sylhet, Bangladesh, Gouri Choudhury is a singer and music teacher who is today one of the UK’s most popular Bangladeshi performers. Gouri started her musical journey at the age of 6 from Chhatakkanakchapa khela ghor ashor and also studied for ten years at a musical academy. She has held positions as a Bengali music teacher for over 13 years at schools all over London and is currently Music Leader of Newham Young Person’s Choir (NYPC) and Sing Up programme ARK.
